Pre and post vaccine protocols
I have gathered from a few trusted resources ways to prepare your body for vaccines and ways to detox some of the heavy metals, unhealthy preservatives and navigating symptoms that may arise as a result. We are not encouraging to take vaccine or that to say they arer safe but should you take them, these are some suggestions. I have also created links to the products we recommend, since it was intimidating and a little crazy making to know which brands work best. By being in traditional medicine for 20 years, I have certainly tried my fair share of these products along with my colleagues and these are some of our recommendations. We have used these products for our family, friends, clients over the years and come to trust these brands for their effectiveness, healthy ingredients, and good manufacturing processes and practices.
Vaccine Preparation
KNOW AHEAD OF TIME THE VACCINE(s) BEING ADMINISTERED
We need to have much more research to understand the ways in which adverse events come about for each vaccine and type of vaccine. Here are some known effects from individual vaccines and how to mitigate.
Hepatitis B vaccine Interacts with vitamin A and D receptors (see below, VDR Taq)
MMR and Varicella 3 weeks before and after – add vit A (see below)
Dtap, meningococcal, and polio 3 weeks before and after - add magnesium (see below)

Genetic Mutations
VDR Taq:
Take vit A and D together in order to have sufficient vit D level; begin 3 months before vaccinated; Cod liver oil (read the label) and Raw whole cows’ milk (eg Organic Pastures brand at Sprouts) are two naturally occurring sources that provide A and D together. Rosemary and sage support these receptors (thanks to Dr. Jim Roach). If you do not have this mutation this can still be helpful. If you do not begin 3 months ahead of time, use this program of Vit D supplementation and take your dose with a source of vit A:
Children
Vit D3 5,000 units a day for two weeks after the vaccine and then 2,000 units a day after that.
Children under 12 years old should take 250 mg a day of calcium if they are not using dairy (eg raw whole cows’ milk).
Adults
Vit D3 20,000 units a day after the vaccine for two weeks, then 10,00 units a day after. In addition, 500 – 1,000 mg of calcium a day (see above).

BCMO (Vitamin A receptor) mutations;

The MMR and Varicella vaccines may be more difficult with vit A receptor mutations. Increase vit A foods.
COMT: People with this mutation need extra magnesium for detox systems to work best.
Everyone Can Consider Vitamin A with MMR vaccination because of the measles component.
“The World Health Organization and American Academy of Pediatrics recommend administering 200,000 IU of vitamin A to children older than 1 year of age to be given immediately when measles is diagnosed, with a second dose given the following day. Infants who are 6-12 months of age should be given 2 doses of 100,000 IU of vitamin A. Infants who are younger than 6 months of age should be given 2 doses of 50,000 IU of vitamin A.” (p 248, Miller's Review of Critical Vaccine Studies).
There are no studies to say what doses of vit A can help prevent complications from measles vaccine, but because the body is facing a similar process as the measles disease, it makes sense to use Vitamin A at the time of the measles vaccine. The doses listed above are reasonable for poorly nourished children. If a child has been on daily cod liver oil which contains A & D, the dose could be cut in half. Check doses with doctor if you have questions.
Food Allergy
Avoid ALL IgG sensitive foods for days before and after.
Look at your fingernails
White spots on nails? Be sure to get zinc (see below).
FOR EVERYONE ONE MONTH BEFORE (or start as soon as you can):
Avoid all processed foods.
Take a full immune support regimen including:
Extra vit D and A (see above)
Multivitamin
Probiotic and cultured foods
Zinc
Daily for two weeks before and after.
Protects against vaccine toxicity. Use zinc oxide ointment daily on skin for infants, and for older children give zinc gluconate 5mg daily (lozenges available) up to age 12 than 30-50 mg daily same as adults. Selenium supports zinc
Metabolism
Brazil nuts 1-2 per day for adults.
Magnesium
Helps the detox systems in the body work better.
Take magnesium orally, e.g. CALM or True Botanica Magnesium Reservoir, to the amount that causes one extra bowel movement per day and take Epsom salts bath twice a week or use magnesium lotion on the skin daily for two weeks prior.
Thuja D6 (6x) or Thuja Thymus
7-10 drops or pellets twice daily for two weeks before and two weeks after each immunization. For children, use one drop or pellet per year of age up to age 10. DAY BEFORE VACCINE (SOME SAY ONE HOUR BEFORE VACCINE)
Turmeric
Day before, for weeks afterwards, and ideally daily forever.
Take curcumin (turmeric, organic preferred) 1⁄4 – 1 tsp according to body size one hour before the vaccine.
Mixes well in kefir or yogurt or in a green drink or smoothie.
Fat improves the absorption of turmeric.
Flavonoids have value -namely curcumin (turmeric), quercetin, ferulic acid and ellagic acid, particularly in a mixture.
Curcumin and quercetin in particular have been found to block the ability of adjuvants to trigger a long-term immune reaction. If you take it an hour before the vaccination, it should help dampen the immune reactions says Dr Russell Blaylock.
Fish Oil
700+mg EPA (eg Nordic Naturals EPA 850 mg in 2 soft gels per serving) daily for adults and children over 12 years old beginning one week before the vaccine and for 2 weeks after.
For children under 2 yr. old, give 1⁄4 dose daily;
Age 2 yr - 6 yr. old, give 1⁄2 dose daily;
Age 6 yr – 12 yr old, give 3⁄4 dose daily.
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), one of the omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oil supplements is potent immunosuppressants.
If you take high dose EPA you will be more susceptible to infections, because it is a powerful immune suppressant. However, in the case of an immune adjuvant reaction, you want to reduce the reaction.
Studies show that if you take EPA oil one hour before injecting a very powerful adjuvant called lipopolysaccharide (LPS), it will completely block the ability of LPS to cause brain inflammation. Take a moderate dose every day and more if needed to tame a cytokine storm. (thanks to Dr. Russell Blaylock).
Eat a meal at the time of a vaccine
AFTER THE VACCINE
Take a cold pack with you and place it on the site of the injection as soon as you can, as this will block the immune reaction. Once you get home, continue using a cold pack throughout the day. If you continue to have immune reactions the following day, continue with the cold press. Consider drawing the inflammation down and out with a mustard foot bath or mustard calf compress.

AVOID!!!
Mercury
Certain seafood and dental visits, eg for cleaning, where the air may be mercury-rich and not filtered.
Oils
Such as corn oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil, canola oil and peanut oil can significantly suppress immunity and increase inflammation. Exclude them from your diet.
Immune-Stimulating Supplements
Stay away from supplements such as mushroom extracts, and beta-glucan. (http://www.betaglucan.org)
Never take Tylenol with vaccinations
Never get vaccinated if you are sick with a cold/flu
No Aspartame
No Fluoride
OTHER HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS (thanks to Dr. Jim Roach)
Lysine 500mg-3gm (based on size) twice a day before & for several days after.
B Complex Plus the day before and several days after.
Coconut Oil 1- 4 tbsp twice/day the day before & several days after; small dose continuously.
Milk thistle Once or twice a day for the day before and weeks after.
